Acquisition of Travelblogs.com
Summary

Travellerspoint.com has expanded its presence in the travel blogging market through the acquisition of Travelblogs.com.

Press Release

The acquisition of Travelblogs.com further expands Travellerspoint.com's presence in the travel blogging market, where it has been active since May 2004. Travel blogs are a relatively new addition to Travellerspoint, complementing popular Travellerspoint services like the travel forums, travel helpers, photography and travel friends reunited areas. Since their implementation on Travellerspoint, over 2500 blogs have been started by members of the active travel community.

With the acquisition of Travelblogs.com, Travellerspoint.com's founding brothers have taken the next step towards securing growth and presence in this niche area of the vastly popular blog market. As Travellerspoint co-founder Samuel Daams says: "The main attraction for us is of course the domain name, an invaluable asset in the long term. Coupled with our own experience and current developments underway, this was an opportunity that we couldn't pass up."

Travelblogs.com itself will experience something of a facelift, as Samuel hints at a range of improvements and changes currently being planned. "We're planning a much more robust and contemporary system on Travelblogs.com, but that's all I can say right now."

Details of the acquisition were not released.
